PRESS QUOTES

The Bride of Field 1000

These drawings and sculptures reveal a name to bear in mind for the future. Susana Neves with The Bride of Field 1000 opens the doors to a universe where only those who dare open their senses and imagination can enter.
Another Kingdom of this World, Pedro Teixeira Neves, Magazine Artes, March 2005

Susana Neves created a bestiary. Not a treaty of religious instruction, anchored in a naif simbolism, representative of the mysteries of religion and medicine as it happened in medieval times, but some kind of a collection of possible beings, others. "Did not writing come from reading trees?"

...however her bestiary is not just a zoo fused with the plant kingdom, but it is also a calligram, inserted in the oriental tradition of image-action, image-imagination in its incompleteness and suspension.
Garden of Words, Aroma`s Dance, Ana Marques Gastão, Diário de Notícias Newspaper, 23 March 2005

"I`m interested by gestures, by their spontaneity before control" (... ) a symbiosis between writing, image and spectacle: "my writing is visual and my drawings one way of writing."
José Manuel Rodrigues da Silva, Jornal de Letras (Literary Newspaper), 15 March 2005.

...(these drawing are) energetic speculations in the drawing filed, contaminated by literature, seeking for a vivacious plastic resolution...the light suspended sculptures...lead the drawings`agility to the context of a biomorphic and animalist bestiary...
Celso Martins, Art Critic, Expresso Newspaper, 2 April, 2005.
